ABOUT WESTFIELD RESIDENCE

Westfield is a student residence and cultural center for college and professional women. Westfield inspires women to think globally, work with a social conscience and acquire skills to become catalysts for positive change in the community. The doctrinal and spiritual formation offered at Westfield is entrusted to Opus Dei, a personal Prelature of the Catholic church.

HISTORY

A not-for-profit women’s student residence and cultural center, Westfield first opened its doors almost 30 years ago. Westfield has always been open to women who want to live in a family environment of academic enthusiasm and social outreach. As a cultural center, Westfield seeks to strengthen and support those parts of today's culture which are eminently positive, pro-woman, and pro-community, and it opens its doors to the public for frequent lectures, conferences and cultural events.

ABOUT OPUS DEI

Opus Dei is a personal Prelature of the Catholic Church that helps ordinary lay people seek holiness in and through their everyday activities, especially through their work.  It was founded in 1928 by a Catholic priest, St. Josemaria Escriva, who died in 1975, and was canonized by St. John Paul II on October 6, 2002.
