Westfield Classes During the 2022-23 School Year

This course on Catholic Teachings goes systematically through the key teachings of Christianity and the Catholic Church, forming a solid basis of knowledge about the Faith. Some topics include: #26 Freedom Law and Conscience, #27 Morality of Human Acts, and #28 Grace and the Virtues.

Love and Responsibility series

2022 Fall Seminar - Wednesdays 7:30-8:30 pm

Join our three-part series that goes into depth on what human love is in order to deepen our relationship with God and others, and to understand love as gift of self. The class will be given by Fr. Luke and will be followed by a group discussion.

Theory and Truth: Christian perspective on Marxism, CRT and SOCIAL Justice

Westfield Fall Workshop — September 18-19, 2021

Do you care deeply about what has been going on in society, but aren’t sure what the Church’s position is? Westfield’s pre-school overnight workshop brought further insight through classes on Catholic Social Teaching and Marxism, discussions on the assumptions and implications of Critical Race Theory, and time for prayer and reflection about living a Christian life in the midst of a troubled world.

If someone asked you: “Why do you believe?”… Would you be able to answer them?

A seminar in the style of UCLA’s Fiat Lux courses, where every other week we will come together to discuss readings exploring the topic of Faith through the Catholic tradition. The seven-part seminar will be led by Bridget Higgins, a teacher who studied theology at the Pontifical University of Santa Croce in Rome.

Readings include excerpts from Cardinal Ratzinger, CS Lewis, Brandt Pitre, Georges Chevrot and Thomas Merton.
